Over the course of 5 days, some 50 researchers, accompanied by IT experts, will be taking part in:
1. plenary sessions held daily to showcase all the tools and vehicles available to support users in the paradigm shift from general-purpose processors to innovative accelerated resources.
2. a workshop on 6 different themes (Combustion, Multiphase flows, Turbulent flows, Numerical methods, Dynamic mesh adaptation, User experience)
3. a hackathon around AVBP and YALES2. In both cases, the aim will be to support application developers in continuing efforts already underway to evolve their code to take advantage of AMD GPU resources.
Thus, this event is supported by the GENCI and LEGI's NETHUNS industrial chair, the University and INSA Rouen Normandie, Labex EMC3, Carnot ESP, the Normandy meso-center CRIANN and INRIA. CRIANN will provide the CFD community with hours of computing time on the supercomputer, as well as system and application support during the week. For the hackathon, INRIA will provide free access to its Neowise cluster, a system equipped with AMD GPU technology and stemming from the AMD donation fund for the fight against COVID-19. In addition, INRIA, CINES and AMD will contribute their knowledge and expertise by providing users with experts in the porting and optimization of scientific applications.
Due to the health context, the possibility of attending the plenary sessions and participating in the workshop remotely will also be possible.
Good ECFD#5 to this great community, extremely responsive, passionate and willing!"
GENCI warmly thanks INRIA, CINES and AMD for their active support during this event.
